Section 259
Limitation Provisions
(1) If a civil matter has to be instituted in the name of a person on behalf of the Government of Nepal, the provincial government or the local level, if the scope of the proceedings is specified in this Code and other laws, within the same limit and if such scope is not specified, the cause of action is created by the Government of Nepal, the provincial government or The local level must file a complaint within two years from the date it is known. However, in this code and other laws, the complaint may be filed at any time as it is mentioned that there is no time limit for filing the complaint, there is no limitation period, or it can be filed at any time.
(2) For the purpose of sub-section (1), it shall be deemed to be known by the Government of Nepal, the Provincial Government or the local level if it is known by the concerned official of the Government of Nepal, State Government or local level office.
